Description:
This training provides family child care providers with practical tools and strategies to use observation as the foundation for developmentally appropriate guidance. Using a participatory approach, participants engage in reflection, video observation, and hands-on practice with multiple observation tools to support social-emotional development and positive guidance in home-based care settings.

By the end of the session you will be able to:

  • Understand how social and emotional development affects children’s behavior

  • Learn the difference between guidance and discipline

  • Recognize the role of observation in understanding children’s needs

  • Identify developmentally appropriate guidance strategies and techniques for home-based care

  • Apply simple observation tools in child care settings

A certificate will be awarded to all participants who complete the training!
